As a Kanaka Maoli, Give it to the rightful owners, they will come back to claim it then what, County of Maui??? You and the Greedy wtll end up paying back the innocent of yesterdays Hewa (wrong)??? Excuse me Makena, shame on you to carry a name of a landmark that is scared to our people, If you want to use Makena, then show the Respect and Honor to our aina (land) and her people. Don't exchange money the American Value for the resource and sacredness of our Native Hawaiian Values.. This community in Kihei and Makena need to repair, revitilize and come together as a unit before we add more to this community. Its all about build, build and more building nothing of values of this land, nothing on teach to live on what we already have, nothing on growing for the community with so much building one day, Makena no more boat to supply your foods. Yes, you will eat termites and have lock jaws, from the woods of your house and the rust from your mental to feed your grandchildren. Yes

This project will provide more to the community in affordable homes, money for parks, money for schools, and road improvements than any other project ever approved. This is a good one.

I didn't agree with the original proposal for this development. However, with the revisions made by the developer and conditions placed on the project by the county council I support the Honua'ula project.
