Masaharu Morimoto, known to millions as the star of "Iron Chef" and "Iron Chef America," is welcoming the addition of fun, new cocktails at his Morimoto Maui at Andaz Maui at Wailea.
"We held a bartender cocktail contest and Jayson Ramos won with his cocktail, the Shiso Sunrise," says the restaurant's Bar Manager Ryan Cabating. "Meant to be tart, yet refreshing, it has housemade ginger/shiso simple syrup from Jayson's recipe and it also utilizes fresh cucumbers."
Other drinks debuting this summer include the Molokini Mule, a twist on the Moscow Mule with shochu and yuzu; the Green Flash Margarita with shishito peppers and cilantro; and the Lychee-tini in a glass rimmed with ginger powder and sugar.
Morimoto’s Bartender Ashton Corpuz serves a Prohibition-era-inspired whiskey Sazarac, after he adds hibiscus syrup and a spritz of Absinthe.
