Academics, cuisine and Hawaiian culture will combine during the 2014-15 open house from 1 to 4:25 p.m. Tuesday at Lahainaluna High School.
The event will begin in Hale Paina (the new cafeteria) with a hula demonstration and other opening ceremonies. Parents will then follow their child's schedule, attending class periods one through seven. Teachers will introduce themselves and give parents a course overview during each 15-minute period. Five-minute passing times are scheduled between class periods. Parents may make appointments to meet with teachers about their students at a later time.
After the last class, parents will return to the cafeteria to hand in an exit survey and pick up their student's progress report.
The open house follows a special school day that starts at 7:55 a.m. and ends at 12:15 p.m., with school bus service for those students who normally catch the bus home and are not staying to attend open house with their parents.
Parents are invited to join their students for lunch in the cafeteria that day at 11:15 a.m.
Parent meal tickets are available for pre-purchase only; the cost is $5, and they are available in the front office through Friday.
