Bratton Puna Helekahi, 62 of Koali, Hana, passed away on August 15, 2014 in Hana. He was born on September 12, 1951 to Benjamin Helekahi and Katherine Kaikala.
Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hana, Eulogy will begin at 10:30 a.m., Mass at 11 a.m., and cremation will follow.
Bratton retired from Hotel Hana Maui as a groundskeeper in 2008. He was also a Vietnam Veteran and served in action from 1970 to 1971.
He is survived by his wife, Maddie Cosma Helekahi; son, Puna (Leina) Villiarimo of Lanai; daughter, Ilona (Lanakila) Phillips of Hana; step-sons, Charles (Marnie) Cabral of Haiku, Mark Cabral of Hana; step-daughters, Kalani Whittington of Los Angeles, California, Sanoe (Chris) Sinenci of Hana; sisters, Ipo Pu of Hana, Gloria (Matthew) Park of Hana, Dina Helekahi of Reno, Nevada, Emiko Helekahi of Hana; brothers, Benjamin (Ulu) Helekahi, Bradly Helekahi, Floyd (Sonia) Helekahi, John John (Tammy) Helekahi, Tony Helekahi, and Lance Helekahi, all of Hana; 20 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
