Baker to discuss health care with Rotary
West and South Maui state Sen. Roz Baker, who is seeking re-election, will be speaking to the Rotary Club of Maui on health care on Maui beginning at noon Aug. 28 in the University of Hawaii Maui College Class Act dining room.
Her topic will be "Health Care on Maui - Challenges and Opportunities," and she will discuss legislation passed in the last session and health issues facing the Maui community, a Rotary news release said.
Baker chairs the Senate Commerce and Consumer Protection Committee and is vice chairwoman of the Senate Health Committee.
In seeking re-election, she will face Republican Jared Dubois and Libertarian Bronson Kaahui in the Nov. 4 general election.
The meeting is open to the public, and the cost is $20 for the luncheon and meeting.
