Jan. 31-The Run and Walk for the Whales - with half marathon, 10K, 5K and 2.5-mile walk events - is set for Jan. 31. The course starts and ends at the Ma'alaea Harbor Shops, two weeks before the annual World Whale Day festivities held at Kalama Park, also hosted by Pacific Whale Foundation. The event has four price brackets: the half marathon is $45, the 10K is $40, the 5K is $35 and the 2.5-mile walk is $20. Registration fees will increase on Sept. 1 and closes at packet pick up.
