Sprucing up barrels in Lahaina

July 2, 2014
The Maui News

Jesse Neizman (from left), Suzanne Medcalf and David Ristau, members of the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise, paint trash barrels with sealer and attach two new recycling signs on Front Street in Lahaina recently. Club members were able to reach all 35 barrels as part of a yearly service project. They attached "Cans Bottles OK" signs to each barrel. Lahaina Restoration Foundation is responsible for the daily removal of trash from the oak trash barrels and noticed that people come by to pick out cans and bottles from the barrels. The remaining bottles and cans are removed by Lahaina Restoration staff.
