PHOTOS: Nikilani Rojas (first photo) of Makawao dons a gold medal and Fae Torres (second photo) of Kahului a bronze Tuesday after their performances in the Special Olympics USA Games swimming competition at Princeton University's DeNunzio Pool in New Jersey. Rojas won a division title in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 1 minute, 19.14 seconds. Torres was third in her 200 freestyle race in 5:39:45. Rojas is also competing in the 50 and 100 freestyle and on the 200 freestyle relay team at the games, which run through Saturday. Torres, a former Maui Special Olympics athlete of the year, is also entered in the 200 freestyle relay and 100 freestyle, as well as the 100 individual medley. Team Hawaii collected 11 medals overall Tuesday, including five swimming golds and one in track and field.
