* Architectural Design & Construction Inc. recently appointed Mika Yamaguchi as one of the firm's project designers.
Yamaguchi graduated with a Master of Architecture degree from John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture at the University of Toronto, Canada, in 2012.
She will join the firm's residential master planning team and serve as a project designer for architectural projects.
Tanner Morrin, another project designer for ADC recently, earned certified LEED Green Associate credentials. The designation identifies him as an architectural professional with the skills for incorporating green building principles and practices into new home and remodeling projects.
LEED certification coursework is based on the National Green Building Standard, the only American National Standards Institute approved rating system for green homes, developments and remodeling projects, according to a news release. The standard includes sections on energy, water and resource efficiency; indoor environmental quality; lot and site development and homeowner education.
* Paula Liu was recently named director of finance for Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. She joined Starwood Hotels and Resorts, the owner and operator of Sheraton and several other hotel brands, in 2003 and has since held a variety of financial leadership roles, including assistant director of finance for Sheraton Sacramento, assistant director of finance at Westin Maui Resort & Spa, regional task force controller for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Hawaii and French Polynesia and most recently as director of finance at the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa.
Liu earned a bachelor of science degree in European studies from University College Cork in Ireland.
* Central Pacific Bank recently appointed Roselane Dela Cruz-Short as its Lahaina Branch manager and Delia Kaniaupio as Kihei Branch manager.
Both women are responsible for leading, coaching and inspiring their teams to consistently meet and exceed the specific financial needs of CPB's customers, including customer and local businesses.
Dela Cruz-Short was with CPB from 1990 to 2009. In 2009 she relocated to Oregon, where she worked for Holiday Retirement. Her previous position with the bank was as sales and service manager at its Kahului Branch.
Kaniaupio has more than 15 years of banking experience and has been with CPB since 2000, where she served as customer service manager at the Kihei Branch.
