Renowned Maui chef and restaurateur Beverly Gannon recently celebrated her 65th birthday at a surprise "Studio 65" party thrown at her Wailea restaurant, Gannon's. The milestone marks a new chapter for Bev who, after 26 years, has been transitioning from the daily operations of her restaurants (Hali'imaile General Store, Joe Bar & Grill and Gannon's) to the role of mentor to her executive chefs and cooks in her restaurants, assisting with their creative visions. Later this year, expect some exciting changes as Bev turns the page on a new chapter.
Chris and Cheech Shurilla showcase Bev Gannon’s birthday cake they made themselves. The top is dark chocolate fudge cake in fondant with edible disco glitter by Cheech the pastry chef; and the bottom is an actual disco ball half that Chris made spin using rotisserie motor and vacuum fan belts.
