May 18, 2014
The Maui News
The Maui Police Department hosted the 25th annual First Hawaiian Bank Troy Barboza Law Enforcement Torch Run on May 3. More than 200 runners took part, from the department; the state Department of Land and Natural Resources; the Hawaii Air National Guard; the Air Force Research Laboratories; the Coast Guard; Securitas Security Services; American Medical Response; Maui Ki-Aikido; the Maui County Prosecutor’s Office; the Maui Community Correctional Center; and Customs and Border Protection. To celebrate the quarter-century run, music was provided by Josh Kahula and friends, Zenshin Daiko, Clay Mortensen, Ata Damasco and Homestead. All proceeds from the concert and run will go toward the Special Olympics Maui program for its athletes.
