The Maui News

The University of Hawaii baseball team allowed its highest run total in three years in a 17-4 loss to Cal State Fullerton on Saturday in Fullerton, Calif.

Matt Chapman was 5-for-5 with three RBIs for the Titans (20-17, 5-6), and Tyler Stieb also drove in three runs.

The Rainbow Warriors (15-24, 3-11) lost for the 11th time in 12 games. They had not given up 17 or more runs in a game since an 18-8 loss to New Mexico State in 2011.

Fullerton's Justin Garza (3-2) allowed three runs in six innings.

Scott Squier (3-4), the first of six pitchers used by UH, took the loss.

The Titans will try to complete a sweep of the three-game series today.
