TOBE Co. Food Safety is holding a ServSafe Certification Class on Maui.
This one-day class will be held June 16 at the University of Hawaii Maui College. It starts at 8 a.m. and most students will be finished with the exam by 5 p.m., according to an announcement. Attendees must preregister with TOBE Co.
"With new food safety regulations for restaurants starting this year, this class is great preparation . . . for managers who want to stay ahead of the requirements," said Tom Frigge, president of TOBE Co. "We can help restaurant managers understand how to get the coveted green placard"
A summary of the upcoming new regulations can be found tobecofoodsafety.com.
Since TOBE Co. is an approved trainer in the Employment & Training Fund program, tuition assistance may be available for participants in this state-run program.
ServSafe, the Food Safety Training curriculum developed by the National Restaurant Association, is considered the gold standard for food safety training, according to the release. Anyone who passes the test will receive ServSafe certification and will meet any upcoming training requirements that the state Department of Health may require.
