Bail maintained in sex assaults case
WAILUKU - Bail was kept at $750,000 for a Wailuku man indicted on charges alleging that he repeatedly sexually assaulted a child.
Yember Marroquin-Estrada, 35, has pleaded not guilty to five counts of third-degree sexual assault and 18 counts of first-degree sexual assault of a girl periodically from April 2011 to September 2012.
A July 7 trial is set for Marroquin-Estrada in 2nd Circuit Court.
He has been ordered to stay away from the girl and her mother, as well as their residence, school and workplace.
During a hearing Tuesday, Judge Peter Cahill also ordered Marroquin-Estrada to turn over his passport.
Teenager arrested in fires on Molokai
Molokai patrol officers arrested a 17-year-old boy in the investigation of two fires that were intentionally set Thursday morning in Hoolehua, police said.
Officers responded to a fire reported at 10:06 a.m. near Likelike Avenue, finding two fires of one-quarter acre each on undeveloped land, police said.
Firefighters responded to contain the fires within 30 minutes. No homes were in immediate danger, police said, and an investigation showed that the fires were intentionally set.
The boy was arrested for first-degree arson and third-degree arson, police said. He was later released to his parents.

The list is a guide to the best new hotels and resorts worldwide. Editors considered 510 hotels in 400 cities and 93 countries this year.
The criteria for selection included the property's sense of place, personality and intuition, a news release said.
Other hotels in the best beach hotels category included Mukul Resort, Nicaragua; Nizuc Resort & Spa, Cancun; and Point Yamu by Como, Phuket.
