KAPOLEI, Oahu (AP) - Michelle Wie of Honolulu moved into second place at the Lotte Championship on Thursday, shooting a 5-under-par 67 in the second round at Ko Olina Golf Club.
Wie was at 7-under 136, one shot behind Angela Stanford, who had the low round of the tournament so far, a 64.
Wie had no bogeys and five birdies, including twice on back-to-back holes - the seventh and eighth, and the 13th and 14th.
"That putt was really, really, really fast," Wie said of her birdie on No. 13. "It was downwind, down grain, downhill and I just barely touched it and I think the crowd rolled that one in for sure," Wie said. "I thought it lipped out for sure, and it just kind of went around then, and so it was awesome."
Stanford had eight birdies, including five in a row on the front nine.
"Finally, I got comfortable on these greens and it felt great. I mean, to see the ball go in that much is a lot of fun," she said. "It was nice to see. I needed a round like that."
