Gala K. Tubera, a junior majoring in history, and Gerald Patrick Maeda, a freshman majoring in environmental sciences, have been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y.
Tubera, a resident of Pukalani, is the daughter of Lynn Tubera, and is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools Maui Campus.
Maeda, a resident of Makawao, is the son of Riki Maeda and Maureen Maeda, and is a graduate of St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School.
The names of students who have made the scholastic honor roll winter term have been announced by Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore. To be on the honor roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work: Kylie K. Hashizaki, a junior from Haiku studying animal sciences, had a straight-A average; Amanda K. Matsuda, a freshman from Lahaina studying exercise and sport science, had a 3.5 grade- point average or better; Kameron T. Kaneshina, a senior from Makawao studying exercise and sport science, had a 3.5 grade-point average or better; Kristen H. Kaya, a sophomore from Wailuku studying psychology, had a straight-A average; Hiilei G. Andrade, a junior from Wailuku studying human development and family science, had a 3.5 grade-point average or better; Ashley M. Juan, a sophomore from Wailuku studying general science, had a 3.5 grade-point average or better; and Kasey N. Munetake, a senior from Wailuku studying electrical and computer engineering, had a 3.5 grade-point average or better.
Makai Michael Mann of Makawao was named to the dean's list for the fall 2013 semester at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. Mann is enrolled in the university's School of Engineering and Applied Science.
To qualify for the dean's list in the School of Engineering & Applied Science, students must earn a semester grade-point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 12 graded units.
Tyson Suehiro, a graduate business student and resident of Kahului, has been named to the dean's honor list at Seattle University for the fall and winter quarter of 2014.
The 2009 Maui High School graduate is the son of Tatsuo and Nelly Suehiro of Kahului.
To qualify for the dean's honor list, a student must successfully complete at least six credit hours and have a minimum grade-point average of 3.85 for the quarter.
