As usual, the Carden Jamboree will be a hoe-down, and then some. All you have to do is shine your boots, don your favorite cowboy hat, and then head to the Oskie Rice Polo Field in Makawao.
There is still plenty of time to get your Western wear together as the party will run from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, April 25. It's a fundraiser to benefit tuition assistance and enrichment programs for Carden Academy of Maui's students from kindergarten though eighth grade.
Three's Bar & Grill will return to prepare the barbecue fare and fixings. Partner-chefs Travis Morrin, Cody Christopher and Jaron Blosser will cook.

"We won't bring our food truck that day, but we'll set up two, 6-foot kiawe grills," says Morrin. "Cody is from Houston, Texas, and so the influence of this Upcountry feast with a southern flair comes from Cody."
The native Texan will wow the crowds by marinating chicken breasts in his special homemade sauce for 24 hours. He'll also barbecue ribs and glaze them in a guava and chipotle sauce.
"We're doing local-vegetable, three-bean vegetarian chile, hearty and good; and we'll do four-cheese mac and cheese with herbed panko breadcrumbs."
But the piece de resistance will be the rootbeer-glazed brisket, slow cooked for 12 hours in a smoker until the meat is tender to the touch. You may pile on sides of grilled chimichurri vegetables as well as homemade corn bread.
"We're really looking forward to grilling for all the Upcountry cowboys and cowgirls at the Jamboree and raising money for the school," says Christopher. "We had fun there last year -and it was a big party and a huge success."
Auction items include handmade quilts, spa packages at Grand Wailea, dinners, trips and more.
"Jamboree is always so much fun," says school Director Nina Sato. "We meet many people in the community at the event, and they are able to learn about Carden Academy and our mission. We're always amazed by the outpouring of support."
