UFCW Local 480 backs governor
Gov. Neil Abercrombie has been endorsed for re-election by the United Food & Commercial Workers Union, Local 480, according to an announcement.
The union represents island workers in the grocery, retail, food processing and meatpacking industries.
This month, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Local 142, with nearly 18,000 members statewide, also endorsed Abercrombie for a second term.
Ige will visit with Central Maui voters

Senate Ways and Means Chairman David Ige will visit Central Maui this evening to meet voters, according to an announcement.
Ige, a Democratic candidate for governor, will hold a "stew and rice" event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Lihikai Elementary School cafeteria. Ige is expected to discuss his reasons for running for governor.
Those attending the event will be encouraged to ask questions and share their concerns and hopes with the candidate.
