ART MAUI OPENS MONDAY
The prestigious Art Maui juried exhibition opens to the public on Monday in Schaefer International Gallery at Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului.
Art Maui's board of directors said 336 artists have entered 549 pieces. This year's juror, Stephan Jost, the director of the Honolulu Museum of Art, selected 65 pieces, including three video and/or sound installations.

The list of selected works is now posted online. Art Maui will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until April 20. You may also view the exhibition during Castle Theater events in the evenings.

PEGGE HOPPER AT RITZ
Village Galleries, located lobby level of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, is pleased to present Pegge Hopper, one of Hawaii's most beloved artists for decades.
The public is invited to a festive artist's reception and exhibition from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday; and to a print signing by the artist from 9:30 a.m. to noon on March 27. A resident of Hawaii since 1963, Hopper is famous for her acrylic paintings and charcoals of island women in repose. For more details, call 669-1800.
