HONOLULU (AP) - Warning signs were posted at a beach in the Waikiki neighborhood Saturday after a diver said that he spotted an 8-foot aggressive Galapagos shark.
The diver said he saw the shark off Kaimana Beach about 1 p.m., but the beach remained open.
The diver, who had a line of fish, said that the shark went toward him. He was about 250 yards off shore.
Lifeguards patrolled the area with rescue personal watercraft and warned beachgoers.
Galapagos sharks like to swim in reefs around islands, experts say.
