9th Maui Plein Air shows fresh work at two events
The 9th annual Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational, which showcases more than two dozen Hawaii and Mainland artists as they capture Maui on canvas, continues with the following events:
* Pioneer Inn Lahaina Harbor Quick Draw, 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Lahaina Harbor.
Michael Kessler’s “Sunbeams 2,” a 48-by-70-inch acrylic on panel, will be on display at Paia Contemporary Gallery.
* Exclusive Collectors' Hour, 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at The Village Galleries, 120 Dickenson St., followed by unveiling of the week's works.

Paia Contemporary kicks off first show of the year
Explore exciting, new work from Texas sculptor Caprice Pierucci and Santa Fe, N.M., painter Michael Kessler with Paia Contemporary Gallery's first exhibition of the year.
Owner and artist Alejandro Goya will kick off the show with a festive reception from 6 to 8 p.m. March 1 at the gallery, 83 Hana Highway.
Fashion designer Tamara Catz will be hosting a special evening event at her boutique next door with life music, a fashion show and a kombucha bar.

Jan Kasprzycki to unveil new paintings at Turnbull
Renowned artist Jan Kasprzycki will unveil his latest body of work during a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. March 1 at Turnbull Fine Art, 137 Hana Highway, Paia.
Kasprzycki, who paints in abstract and representational styles, is known for scenes of radiant flowers and pastorals of quiet magnitude, according to a gallery release. "I'm a colorist," Kasprzycki said. "It is color that takes my hand and tells it what to do."
