The University of Hawaii women's basketball team led with less than a minute to play before losing 74-72 to Long Beach State on Thursday in Long Beach, Calif.

Jade Wilson made a pair of free throws for the 49ers (11-9, 3-3 Big West) with 49 seconds remaining for a 70-69 lead, and Anna Kim's foul shots with 21 seconds left widened the advantage to three.

Briana Harris' basket for UH (10-8, 4-2) with 11 seconds to go made the score 72-71, but Hallie Meneses made two foul shots for Long Beach State one second later.

After the Rainbow Wa-hine's Pua Kailiawa missed a 3-pointer, teammate Shawna-Lei Kuehu was fouled with one second remaining. She made the first free throw, then missed the second, and Wilson got the rebound to seal the win.

Wilson finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Raven Benton scored 17 points.

Sydney Haydel scored 16 points for UH, which had won four games in a row. Ashleigh Karaitiana had 14 points and Destiny King added 13 points and 15 rebounds. Molokai High School graduate Kalei Adolpho had one rebound.

Hawaii will play at Cal State Northridge on Saturday.
