Assistance Dogs of Hawaii is a Maui-based charitable organization that has been serving children and adults with physical disabilities and other special needs in Hawaii for the past 14 years by providing professionally trained assistance dogs and lifetime followup free of charge to people in need.
Assistance Dogs of Hawaii receives no government or United Way funding. The program relies entirely on private donations, and the annual Valentine's Benefit Event and Auction provides more than half of the funding for the many programs each year, according to a news release.
