Police are looking for a 46-year-old Maui woman who went missing Sunday.
Moreira "Mo" Monsalve was last seen around 10 p.m. at her ex-boy-friend's residence in Wailuku, police said.
The Buick she was driving was found by police Tuesday at an auto repair shop in Wailuku. Detectives checked areas Monsalve was known to frequent without obtaining information about her whereabouts, police said.
"We're just trying to figure out what happened to her and where she is," said Monsalve's daughter, Alexis Felicilda. "It's just weird."
On Sunday afternoon, Monsalve had attended a meeting with her son at the University of Hawaii Maui College, police said. The two went in separate vehicles. Felicilda said that after leaving the college Sunday afternoon, Monsalve picked up Felicilda and they had a beer at the Hang Loose Lounge in Kahului before Monsalve dropped her daughter off at Kahului Airport.
Because Monsalve's son slept over at a friend's house Sunday night and Felicilda was on Oahu, it wasn't until Tuesday morning that family members realized Monsalve was missing and called police, Felicilda said.
Monsalve hadn't gone back to the house in Kihei where she was house-sitting with her son and wasn't returning his calls, Felicilda said. She tried to call her mother at work and, after getting no answer on her direct line, called the corporate office and learned Monsalve hadn't been to work this week and also hadn't called in.
Felicilda said Monsalve's ex-boyfriend posted something on Monsalve's Facebook page at about 7 p.m. Sunday indicating that she was at his residence at Iao Parkside. When Felicilda called the ex-boyfriend, he said Monsalve had left the residence at 10 or 10:30 Sunday night, Felicilda said.
She said her brother is still in high school and her mother wouldn't have left him. "She wouldn't just disappear," Felicilda said.
Monsalve is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds. She has brown hair and eyes.
Anyone with information about the missing woman's whereabouts is asked to call police at 244-6400.
