HONOLULU (AP) - Gov. Neil Abercrombie says Hawaii ended the most recent fiscal year $844 million in the black.

The governor said in a statement Friday that the administration has worked diligently to grow Hawaii's economy.

He says additional state revenues and a positive economic outlook put the state in a better situation to address issues like early education, environmental protection, homelessness and support for seniors. Hawaii's fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30.
