First Photo: U.S. women's wrestling Olympic coach Terry Steiner speaks to a group of Maui youths during a clinic Sunday at Lahainaluna High School. The event drew 105 participants. At left is Katie Kunimoto Neste, a former state champion from Castle High School and Olympic Training Center invitee. "I think there's a lot of talent on the islands," Steiner said, adding: "Obviously, I'm not going to hide the fact that I love coming to Hawaii, but Hawaii has also been a large producer of talent for our U.S. team." Steiner also said the event was about more than technique on the mat. "If there's one thing I can say the sport of wrestling has given me, it's the ability to deal with life's adversities. You're going to have struggles, you're to have times when things don't go your way. Wrestling can really give us the strength to get through those kinds of things. Wrestling is such a great teacher of life skills."
