"Trees: Fruits, Nuts and Beyond" is the theme of the 18th Lawn and Garden Fair on Saturday at the Maui Mall.
There will be plant sales, horticultural diagnosis and consultation, and educational talks on planting sustainable fruit trees in the garden at the event organized by the Maui Association of Landscape Professionals.
Mango, lychee, macadamia, avocado and spice trees will be among the topics of speakers.
Fairgoers may bring their soil samples for pH testing, a sample of their sick plants for diagnosis and insect pests in sealed containers for identification and advice in dealing with them.
There will be green industry vendors and nonprofits on hand to provide information to gardeners, as well.
The fair also is holding its fourth Artscapes - A Living Art Exhibition.
"This is a great opportunity for garden creators and artists to show what they can do," a news release about the event said.
There will be cash prizes for the top three winners and a Peoples' Choice award.
The fair, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is free.
The sponsors of the event are the Maui County Farm Bureau, Hawaii Grower Products and the Maui Mall.
