Cookie No. 88 is a nearly 3-year-old, brown/black and brindle/white female hound mix. She weighs about 46 pounds and has already been spayed. Cookie was out for stroll by herself one night and came back with an injured hip, according to Maui Humane Society officials. And, her owners were in the process of moving to the Mainland. They brought Cookie to the Puunene shelter on July 12, and, with "Hope Fund" donations she got the surgery she needed. Now she gets her physical therapy by going for strolls on the beach with shelter volunteers.
