PBS Hawaii Community Advisory Board Member Leona Rocha Wilson (right) presents Maui High School with the Nino J. Martin Excellence in Production Award as part of the 2013 Hiki No Awards. The event was held Friday in the Maui High School gym. Shown receiving the award are (from left) Emma Pastor, Geil Tolentino, Tally Nakamura, Racieli Andrada and Cheska Liwag. Their winning 3-minute video, “Back In Line,” earned the school $500 in B&H Photo credit. The video told the story of junior saxophonist Nakamura, who was diagnosed with scoliosis. Maui High was the only Valley Isle school to win an award and one of only two Neighbor Island schools to claim one of the 10 categories.
