Oct. 25-27-The Elmarie Dagupion Memorial Fishing Tournament, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Oct. 25 to noon on Oct. 27. Weigh-ins are scheduled for the final day, at the Sugar Cane Train station in Kaanapali, from 10 a.m. to noon. Prizes will be awarded in a youth division (ages 5-14) for the largest edible fish, and adult division (15 and above) for the largest ulua. Saturday-The 24th annual Day of Hope 10K Run / 5K Walk, a fundraiser for Maui's Pacific Cancer Foundation, is scheduled for 7 a.m. on Saturday in Wailea and Makena. At least $40 in pledges are required to enter the race, and participants will receive breakfast. Runners can register as individuals, or as five-person "centipede" 5K running or walking teams - team members will be linked together, and costumes are encouraged.
