Akinori Watanabe, 84, of Lihue, formerly of Wailuku, Maui, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on September 24, 2013.
Memorial services will be on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Paia Mantokuji Soto Zen Mission with visitation from 9:30 a.m. and services at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Maui Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Akinori Watanabe was born November 19, 1928, in Makawao. He was the son of Yasaburo & Sakae Watanabe.
He retired as an electrician with Stan's Electric.
He was predeceased by his wife, Doris T. Watanabe; brothers, Yukio "Butch", Toshio "Snipe" Watanabe and sister, Evelyn "Kimie" Wilhelm.
He is survived by one son, Dennis (Carlina) Muffly; sister, Sue Dangler; brothers, Stan (Bonnie) Watanabe, Robert "Bob" (Marlene) Watanabe; 3 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
