1913-The Maui Glee Club is making a hit in San Francisco, and the boys are all feeling happy. On the way to the Mainland, the boys had the luck to have as fellow passengers, Mr. Harry Baldwin and wife. The Paia manager got busy and arranged a show on board. The "shower" of silver after the concert came to a fair sum.

1938-Public health-minded persons see the day when even in the rural island of Molokai, all babies will be born in hospitals. Molokai has made great progress and now has 20 percent more babies delivered in hospitals than the average throughout the Territory.

1963-Public schools on Maui, Molokai and Lanai have suffered a net loss of 113 students with a total enrollment in 30 schools at 11,071. Reporting no change in enrollment were Kaupo with six students and Keanae with 44.

1988 -A section of wall from the 80-year-old Chee Kwung Tong Society hall on Vineyard Street crashed into a neighbor's yard Thursday. The building was built in 1908 and has been vacant since the 1960s when its last occupant died. The building is to be torn down and replaced with a replica.

2003 -Now that students are settled in, visitors will be welcome Saturday to see the brand new Kamehameha Schools Maui high school campus. High school Principal Mitchell Kalauli said his 288 students are adjusting just fine.
