Forever H & A Maui, a shop that sells Hawaiian American Girl doll dresses and matching girls' dresses, has opened at The Wharf Cinema Center in Lahaina town.
The store also has accessories for dolls and girls and a variety of made-on-Maui gifts, including candles, sea glass and shell jewelry and tree ornaments.

GYM GROWTH. Maui Powerhouse Gym in Kihei will expand its gym by 60 percent with renovations to be completed by early 2014.
Additions include a new front desk, new kids club, dedicated functional fitness areas and new locker and shower rooms, which will have a separate men's and women's saunas.
Plans include adding more cardio equipment, two aerobic studios, one of which will be used as a dedicated spin theater with 30 new spin bikes.
Nagel Designs, the company that did the recent makeover of the Honolulu Club on Oahu, is handling Powerhouse's renovations.
The gym, located at 1279 S. Kihei Road Suite 118, will be open during the renovations.

NEW MINIT. Minit Stop will be opening a store and a gas station in Lahaina, at 10 Kupuohi St., in November.
It is accepting applications for cashiers, cooks and food preparation workers.

WOOD AWARDS. Two Maui artists won honorable mention awards in the Hawai'i Forest Industry Association's 2013 juried Hawaii's "Woodshow," Na La'au of Hawai'i.
Tom Calhoun, who owns World Wood Works in Kula, took honorable mention in the open category for "Persephone's Purse," which was crafted from mango, dyed poplar faceted rubies, garnet beads, silk kumihimo weaving, embossed leather and cork.
Shaun Fleming took an honorable mention for her piece "Maui Forest," which was crafted from koa, camphor and European beach veneer. Her furniture making business, Wooden Touches, is based in Haiku.
