Aiko Nakao, 87, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2013 at Roselani Place in Kahului. She was born on April 4, 1926 in Wailuku. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Grace Bible Church Maui, 635 S. Hina Ave., Kahului. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with a service to follow at 11 a.m. Private burial services will be held at the Makawao Veteran's Cemetery at a later date. The family kindly requests no flowers and no monetary gifts.
She is survived by her son, Glenn (Kathy) Nakao; grandsons, Jon (Ellen) Nakao, and Ryan Nakao; and great-grandson, Connor Nakao. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Nobuko Kuwada, Miyoko Nakagawa, and Setsuko Takahashi; and brother, Charles Matsubara. Aiko was pre-deceased by her husband, Hidemi Nakao, and her sister, Jeanette Hideko Akamichi.
