The performance of "Les Miserables" at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center was the best ever musical production on Maui.
It was directed by David Johnston, who brilliantly brought together extraordinary set design, stunning lighting and fabulous costumes that accompanied a cast of amazing talent. Musical director Robert Wills passionately brought to life a 26-instrument orchestra and a singing choir in the orchestra pit to accompany the onstage singing and brilliant musical performances by James Price and Jerry Eiting.
The accolades extraordinary, amazing, riveting, impactful only limit the actual experience of being in the audience and being able to rise with precision for three standing ovations for each of the six performances as a heartfelt acknowledgment for the obvious passion, dedication and commitment by the entire cast, musicians and crew.
This was a production of magnitude that becomes experiential and leaves the audience not simply lacking words to describe the experience of deep impact, but moved to tears of pure joy that will be remembered forever as the greatest of all time.
Far surpasses any "Les Mis" performance in New York.
