I read many articles about the great services available at Maui Memorial Medical Center. It is great for heart and stroke.
Our problem on Maui is a lack of acute and timely regular care by physicians for orthopedics, urology or ear, nose and throat. One often must wait four to eight weeks to get an appointment with any one of these local doctors.
For urgent care, I must go to Oahu to see a urologist (round-trip air and taxi is $500). Plus, the day is spent. Maui should be the most wonderful place to have a medical practice. What can we do to attract the above needed specialists?
