Natsuyo Hayase, 101, passed away on August 15, 2013 at Hale Makua Wailuku.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, at the Wailuku Hongwanji Mission, with a service at 5 p.m. Burial will be at a later date. Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Mrs. Hayase was born on June 28, 1912 in Hana, Maui. She was the proprietor of Hale Pua O Maui in Wailuku and Kahului.
She was predeceased by her husband, Masao Hayase in 1991. She is survived by her children, Chester (Charlotte) Hayase, Jack (Betty) Hayase, Joan Nishino, Trudy (Thomas) Akamine, Carolyn Hozaki and Melvin (Eileen) Hayase; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; sister, Thelma Kondo; sister-in-law, Esther Ueki; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted wife, a super mom & grandma, and an active leader in girl scouts, university extension, and her temple community.
