Making the case against distracted driving

August 22, 2013
The Maui News
Miss San Antonio Brooklyn Dippo speaks to Lokelani Intermediate School 7th-graders Wednesday morning about the dangers of distracted driving. Dippo, who represented San Antonio in the Miss Texas pageant, said traffic accidents are the leading cause of death of American teenagers. She urged the students not to text, eat, talk on the phone or take part in other distracting things when they are old enough to drive and are behind the wheel. Dippo is on Maui as a guest of the Will Smith Foundation and its founder Susan Moulton. Smith, Moulton’s son, was killed from injuries sustained in a head-on crash in Ukumehame on June 3, 2007. He was 8 years old.
