Braving wind, dust and sun

August 7, 2013
The Maui News
The Kamehameha Schools Maui junior varsity and varsity football teams picked up trash along Omaopio Road at the Central Maui Landfill as part of Community Work Day on July 31. “I want to teach the kids the importance of caring for our island and helping the community,” said Cody Namakura, head football coach. The students cleaned for about one and a half hours in wind, dust and hot sun. “I was very proud to see that they took the job seriously and didn’t complain,” said Nakamura.
