Kaupe to compete in Hershey's meet
Nawai Kaupe of Wailuku will compete in the softball throw at Hershey's Track and Field Games North American final on Aug. 3 in Hershey, Pa.
Kaupe earned a spot in the event with her performance in June's qualifier - she had a throw of 238 feet.
Clark claims title at table tennis tourney
Noah Clark of Lahaina won the junior division title at the Santa Monica Table Tennis Tournament last month in Santa Monica, Calif.
Clark finished 6-0 at the event held June 22-24.
Pookela futsal team earns runner-up finish
The Pookela '97 girls team lost 4-1 to the Slammers of California in the under-16 title match of the U.S. Futsal national championships on Sunday in Long Beach, Calif.
Christine Kenagy scored for Pookela, which went 2-2 at the event, with both losses to the Slammers.
Eylander aces No. 14 at Waiehu
Richard Eylander of Wailuku recorded a hole-in-one at Waiehu Municipal Golf Course on Monday.
Eylander aced the 14th hole, using an 8-iron for the 120-yard shot witnessed by Darlene Eylander, Ozzie Cardenas and Daniel Kamalani.
Baldwin cross country practices start Monday
Baldwin High School cross country practices will begin on Monday.
Athletic forms must be completed before participating, and can be obtained from the office at the school in Wailuku.

Little League team accepting donations
The Central East Maui Little League junior division baseball team is seeking monetary donations to help defray travel costs for the West Region tournament, scheduled for July 31-Aug. 7 in Vancouver, Wash.

According to team officials, donations are tax-deductible.
