Four candidates will participate in the 2013 Miss Maui Filipina Scholarship Pageant on Saturday at the Maui Tropical Plantation.
Sponsored by the Maui Filipino Community Council, the evening will begin with no-host cocktails at 5:30 p.m.
The pageant program will start at 6:30 p.m.
The candidates are Jhena Irene Batulayan Alipio, Heidianne Buted Allado, Rochelle Marie Dagdagan de Leon and Clarice Anne Carino.
The candidates will be competing in five phases of competition: a pre-pageant interview, swimsuit, talent, terno speech and on-stage interview.
Miss Maui Filipina 2013 will receive a scholarship award and a round-trip ticket to the Philippines. She will represent the Valley Isle in the Miss Hawaii Filipina Scholarship Pageant on Aug. 3 at the Courtyard by Marriot on Kauai.
During the terno speech phase, the candidates will deliver a prepared speech relating to the pageant theme, "Bridging the Past, Present and Future."
Tickets are $20 and may be purchased from any of the candidates, council officers or committee members.
