St. Anthony Class of '83 giving back
The Saint Anthony Junior-Senior High School Class of 1983 will hold its 30th reunion Friday to June 30. The theme is "Giving Back & Paying It Forward," with the following schedule of events:
* 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Friday - Class Blood Drive Day at the Cameron Center.
* 5 p.m. June 23 - Memorial Mass at St. Anthony Church.
* 6:30 p.m. June 23 - Dinner following Mass at Tasty Crust restaurant.
* 6 p.m. June 28 - Stag party at Ohana Karaoke Cafe and Grill, 740 Lower Main St. There is a $25 per person deposit (to reserve restaurant). BYOB and potluck, or order from restaurant.
* 6 p.m. June 29 to 6 a.m. June 30 - American Cancer Society Relay for Life at War Memorial overflow soccer field.
* All day June 30 - Family beach day at Kamaole III, with potluck and possibly barbecue.

Maui Huliau Foundation topic of talk
Malia Cahill, executive director and founder of the Maui Huliau Foundation, will speak at the 7:30 a.m. breakfast meeting of the Rotary Club of Kihei Sunrise on Wednesday. The meeting will take place at the Five Palms Restaurant at the Mana Kai Maui Resort in Kihei.
The foundation promotes environmental literacy and leadership among Maui's youth through community-based educational experiences.

Distance learning to be explained
University of Hawaii Center Maui staff members will explain degrees offered through the center's distance learning program from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Kihei Public Library.
The University of Hawaii Center Maui offers selected programs that are available at the Manoa, West Oahu and Hilo campuses.
Nearly all courses are taught online via the Internet, making it convenient for both business professionals and students with families.
Kula AARP to honor mothers and fathers
The regular meeting of the Kula Chapter of AARP will begin with refreshments at 9 a.m. Monday, followed by a business meeting at 9:30 a.m. at the Kula Community Center.
The meeting will be dedicated to honoring mothers and fathers. It is open to the public, and reservations are not necessary. Members and guests are encouraged to bring food donations for the Maui Food Bank.

HGEA retirees will meet on Thursday
The HGEA Retirees General Membership meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the UPW Hall.
The agenda will include Joe Souki, speaker of the state House of Representatives, with a recap of the 2013 legislative session; Steve Tam of AARP; and information on the 20th Biennial Assembly.
Special-needs children topic of talk
Toni Martin of Ohana Ranch Maui will speak at the noon lunch meeting of the Rotary Club of Kihei Wailea on Wednesday at Mulligans on the Blue in Wailea.
Martin works with special-needs children.
