The 14th annual festival is scheduled to start today, with films to be presented in Wailea and at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater in Kahului. The festival continues through Sunday with other venues including the Seaside Cinema located between the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea and the Grand Wailea. Award ceremonies throughout the festival will honor actresses Jessica Chastain, Kirsten Dunst and Brie Larson, as well the late big-wave surfer and legendary lifeguard Eddie Aikau, who was born on Maui, and Nainoa Thompson, navigator of Hokule'a.
