Kula Hospital Clinic will host an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. June 18 at the clinic on the hospital grounds at 100 Keokea Place in Kula.
The event will introduce the newest physician to the community, Dr. Alice Chiou Meyer, who joins Dr. Nicole Apoliona, Kula Hospital and Clinic medical director.
"We are extremely fortunate to have Dr. Meyer join our staff," said Apoliona. "She brings great experience and enthusiasm to family medicine, while being wonderfully compassionate, something that is truly valued by our small island community."

Meyer was born in Taiwan and moved to the United States when she was 10. She attended medical school at Medical College of Virginia/VCU. She performed her internship at the University of Texas-Southwestern Family Medicine and completed her residency at KU-Wesley Family Medicine Residency.
Meyer provides full family medicine care to infants on up to elderly. She has gone on medical mission trips to Kenya and rural Belize and has recently relocated to Maui from Kansas, where she worked as a rural health family physician.
Meyer is accepting new patients at the clinic, which is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Kula Clinic offers a wide range of outpatient serices, including family practice, pediatric neurology, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, laboratory and X-ray facilities.
