FIRST PHOTO: Barrio Fiesta Executive Director Manny Balthazar (left) coaxes a song from Maui High School English Language Learners club member Michelle Ann Calaycay, 17, on Saturday at the 44th annual event at War Memorial Complex in Wailuku. Balthazar said the celebration of Filipino culture is the longest-running Barrio Fiesta in the United States. "It shows the cohesiveness and the unity of the Filipino culture of Maui," he said. "We are the oldest in the United States, without unified organizations we would not be able to do it." The event concluded Saturday.
