Ceremony enlightening

May 21, 2013
The Maui News
Senior Class President Vincent Magno (forefront) leads his class in the traditional “tasseling ceremony” after all graduates had received their diplomas from Principal Emily De Costa and Complex Area Superintendent Lindsay Ball at the Lahainaluna High School commencement Sunday on Boarders’ Field. Soon after, the Torch Lighting Ceremony took place. The “L” atop Puu Pau Pau was emblazoned with red flares, signaling that the Class of 2013 had officially joined the ranks of school alumni. Volunteers from the classes of 1983, 1993 and 2003 — celebrating their class reunions — helped light the “L.”
