Surf to rise again, peak today

May 21, 2013
The Maui News
A surfer cuts back on a wave outside the mouth of Lahaina Harbor on Saturday morning as a large swell hits south-facing Maui shores. The high-surf advisory has been extended until 6 p.m. today by the National Weather Service. Surf is expected to peak at 7 to 11 feet and drop to 6 to 9 feet today. Swimmers should expect strong currents and dangerous conditions. Beachgoers should beware of large breaking waves, the weather service said.
