Bryana Walker pitched a five-inning no-hitter against the University of Hawaii softball team on Sunday, helping send Washington to an 8-0 victory and the NCAA tournament's Seattle regional title.
The Huskies (41-15), seeded 11th in the tournament and ranked 11th in the nation by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, went 3-0 in the regional, outscoring opponents 12-1. Washington had defeated UH 2-0 on Saturday.
Walker (17-7) struck out 12 batters - including eight in a row from the first to fourth innings - and walked two. The 20th-ranked Rainbow Wahine (45-13) did not get the ball out of the infield.
Kaia Parnaby (39-7) took the loss.
Kaitlin Inglesby hit a two-run homer in the third inning and finished 3-for-3. Whitney Jones was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and scored a pair of runs, and Jennie McNeill was 3-for-3 with an RBI.
Washington will face Missouri, seeded sixth and ranked eighth, in the super regionals, which are scheduled to begin Thursday.
