LIHUE (AP) - Officials were searching for a 72-year-old woman more than 24 hours after she went for a hike in Kokee State Park in Kauai.
The Kauai Fire Department said in a statement Sunday that firefighters, police and a search-and-rescue canine team searched through the night and into the afternoon for the woman who left her cabin in Kokee at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Family members called 911 when she hadn't returned about seven hours after she left.
A three-hour aerial search turned up no evidence of the woman. The ground search continued.
