The award-winning Plantation House Restaurant in Kapalua is reopen after a renovation since it suffered a fire on March 28.
Long known as a 'must-do' Maui dining spot, Plantation House is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, ready for all to enjoy.
Highlights of the improvements include interior design enrichments to the dining area, exclusive original art pieces by famed local artist Lori Higgins, and expansion and upgrade of the bar, now called "Nineteen @ The Plantation House," along with a new nightly menu and extended hours.
The restaurant completed a kitchen renovation in November 2012.
Executive Chef Jojo Vasquez, voted one of Hawaii's "Rising Star Chefs," has re-crafted the menus for to reflect his passion for locally sourced and inspired dishes.
His signature menu items include Surfing Goat Dairy cheeses with local heirloom tomatoes and savory granola; seared ahi with Ali'i mushrooms; and Ho'opono Farms fresh tatsoi greens and kaffir lime vin blanc. His desserts include roasted pineapple and caramel cake with pineapple-coconut ice cream and compressed pineapple.
"Chef Jojo's cuisine pays respect to locality, using diverse cooking techniques and contemporary presentations," says Managing Partner Norm Schuhardt. "We will also be introducing weekend entertainment featuring Wilmont Kahaiali'i running every Friday evening from 7:30 to 9:30. And, wine dinners and pairing menus are also on the House's horizon in the upcoming months."
The restaurant is coveted for weddings and group events because of its scenic location overlooking the verdant fairways of Plantation Golf Course, Pacific Ocean, and West Maui mountains.
